Demilitarized Zone kya hai :DMZ is short form of “demilitarized zone”. Term “demilitarized zone” का general meaning होता है nation states के बिच का वो area जहां पर military operation permitted नहीं होता है |
Computer नेटवर्क्स मे DMZ (demilitarized zone) एक physical or logical sub-network होता है जो की internal local area network (LAN) को other untrusted नेटवर्क्स (usually इंटरनेट) से separates करता है | Servers (जो की external नेटवर्क से connected होते है), resources and services को DMZ मे रख जाता है जिससे की वे इंटरनेट से accessible हो लेकिन rest of the internal LAN को unreachable रखा जाता है | यह LAN के लिए additional security layer की तरह काम करती है क्योकि यह internal servers and data को इंटरनेट के through directly access करने के लिए restrict करता है |
DMZ
Users को internet के through provide करने वाली services को DMZ मे रखा जाता है | Users को provide होने वाली common services है – Web, Mail, DNS, FTP, and VOIP.
DMZ host in Home Router – जैसा की explain किया गया की DMZ external network को expose होते हुए internal network से safe रखता है लेकिन home routers मे DMZ allow करना खतरनाक हो सकता है क्योकि home modem/router मे DMZ allow करना मतलब एक computer or device को internet के लिए expose करना होता है लेकिन यहाँ पर यह एक computer or device इंटरनल network से भी connected and expose रहती है | इसका मतलब hackers बहार की तरफ expose होने वाले computer से entry करते हुए आपके internal network को भी hack सकते है |
इसलिए ही जब भी आप घर के router पर DMZ host configure करते है तो carefull रहे | In fact, you generally should not use the home router’s DMZ function at all if you can avoid it.
