SSL Kya hota hai : SSL Stands for “Secure Sockets Layer”| Web client एवं web server के बीच secure communication के लिए Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) सबसे ज्यादा use होने वाली technology है | हम सभी जो भी online mails or banking का use करते है जानते ही है की online banking एवं mails वाली websites, secure connection एवं communication के लिए https protocol का use करती है | जबकि बहुत सारी websites केवल http protocol का use करती है | In simple words, HTTP protocol Web server and client के बीच standard communication के लिए use आती है जबकि HTTPS “Secure communication” के लिए |

SSL web server एवं client के बीच transmit होने वाले data को encrypt करता है जिसके की कोई third party data को hack या read न कर सके | इस transmit होने वाले data को केवल web server या फिर client ही recognize and read कर सकता है | जब भी आप किसी website को visit करते है तो website के नाम से पहले आने वाला https मे, ‘s’ indicate करता है की वेबसाइट secure है | ये website आपकी authenticity को verify करने के लिए SSL certificate use करती है |

HTTPS को Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) के help हेल्प से implement करते है | किसी भी website पर HTTPS implement करने के लिए SSL सर्टिफिकेट को purchase किया जाता है |

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificate क्या होता है –

SSL Certificate online transaction के time transmit होने वाले sensitive information को encrypt करता है |
हर एक SSL Certificate, certificate ओनर की unique and authenticated information save करके रखता है |
एक Certificate Authority certificate ओनर की identity को वेरीफाई करती है |

How Encryption Works?

Secure Sockets Layer का पूरा concept RSA algorithm पर based होता है जहां हर एक SSL Certificate के पास Public key एवं एक Private key होती है | Public key को information encrypt करने लिए एवं private key को decrypt करने लिए use करते है | जब आपका browser, secure domain को connect करता है तो encryption perform करने लिए server Public key को browser के पास भेजता है | इस प्रकार सभी को public key तो दे दी जाती है जबकि private key (used for decryption) को सीक्रेट रखा जाता है | Secure कम्युनिकेशन के टाइम browser पब्लिक key को use करते हुए message को encrypts करता है एवं इसको server के पास भेज देता है | message को server side पर private key को use करते हुए dcrypt कर लिए जाता है |
